Message from the Principal
Welcome to February! We have been busy at Kinghurst over the past little while. Our science fair was held for students in grades 6-8 on February 2nd. Many school families and community members are to be thanked for so generously giving their time to help to judge the projects. Our thanks go out to: Marcia and Steve McGilveary, Lori MacKinnon, Deidre Sullivan-Ferrier, Ron and Mary Zavitz, John Twelves, Dr. Medhi, Kirstin Hastings, Katelyn Saunders, and Jennifer Legge. Our grade 3 and 4 students had the opportunity to participate in a Swim to Survive program at the Centennial Pool in Port Elgin. This program was sponsored by a number of local organizations and came at no cost to the students. Many students enjoyed our spirit day last month, wearing a variety of hats! This month, our spirit day will be held on Friday,
February 24th. The theme this month is Wacky Hair Day. Our school and community council recently enjoyed a visit from Jessica at the Bruce County (Chesley branch) library. Many e-resources were shared, some of which require a library card, while others don’t. Books and reference materials for both you and your children are readily available online. Head on down to the library for further guidance—you will be amazed! Have yourself a great month and, as always, call with any questions or comments. I am here to help.
